#18 "”Drawing” the emotions I can’t writting" Featuring Dyslexic Painter HAMAGUCHI EISHI

HAMAGUCHI could read “letters” but also had difficulty writing his own name. He could not copy the words on the blackboard at school and was perplexed by the heartless words of his classmates, “Anyone who can’t study like you is already going to be homeless in the future. Even the encouragement from his teachers was hard for him to hear. When he stopped going to school in the sixth grade, he chose to draw, which he had loved since childhood. He will discuss the reality of dyslexia, a disorder that is difficult for those around him to understand. The words of his mentor, who helped his talent blossom in the world of art. What is “painting” to him? He talks with MC Hikaru Takahashi and navigator LiLiCo.

He participated as the first scholar candidate in the "ROCKET" project (sponsored by the Nippon Foundation and the University of Tokyo) in 2014, where those with outstanding talent are selected. He learned a great deal at the "ROCKET". He has now published four collections of his work and two picture books.
