Katy Perry – The Concert 2022
Katy Perry
Special Guest
"What moved me to join True Colors Festival was the spirit and uniqueness of the festival’s message and the opportunity to share the stage with all these diverse artists. I’m excited to be back in Tokyo to perform at this inspiring event.”
Katy Perry wrote the anthems that fill concert halls, parades and protests that celebrate and fight for diversity and inclusion. Hits like Roar and Firework have become the soundtrack to countless movements and continue to be the rallying cry to push for positive change for communities worldwide. She recognizes the platform that her success has granted her, using it to support social causes. She has served as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2013 and used her powerful voice to ensure every child’s right to health, education, equality, and protection. She has also been a champion for LGBTQIA+ rights and has received numerous awards for her work, including the Trevor Project’s Hero Award in 2012, the Human Rights Campaign’s National Equality Award in 2017, amfAR’s Award of Courage in 2018, and Variety’s Power of Women distinction in 2021 for her work with her own foundation, the Firework Foundation, whose mission is to empower children from underserved communities by igniting their inner light through the arts.
Aside from countless accolades, which include her music racking up a cumulative 65 billion streams alongside worldwide sales of more than 57 million adjusted albums and 138 million tracks, the Teenage Dream singer is currently performing her Las Vegas residency, PLAY. In it, she reimagines platinum-certified hits like Teenage Dream, Roar, Dark Horse, and Never Really Over into larger-than-life performances – turning the stage into her playground.
